How to start and grow a YouTube channel from scratch
In today’s video, we will give you 5 tips that will help you start and grow a brand new YouTube channel from Scratch.
Are you ready? Let’s get started!
Hey guys, We are Roman & Fizah. Last year in August 2020, after watching a lot of travel videos, We decided to start a YouTube channel of our own but we had no idea where to get started.
We knew that it would not be an easy task and that it would require a lot of work too and this is what we have learnt in the past 9 months since we started.
Tips number 1
Don’t be afraid!
When we first started, we thought!
Who is gonna want to watch our videos?
What are we gonna talk about?
Which Camera do I need?
How am I gonna edit my videos?
All these questions are normal and you should not worry about any of them! And if you do not have a camera yet, start with your phone! DO NOT BE AFRAID TO GET STARTED!
Tips number 2
Be Authentic & Different
When you come to our channel, we are going to tell you the answer that you are looking for. We always try to put ourselves in your shoes by giving you the best tips that will help you during your travel journey.
For example, we did a video about “What can $10 can get you in Kuala-Lumpur” and this video will help you to get an idea of the real cost of living as a traveler in Kuala-Lumpur.
The cost of food, cost of transport, souvenirs and also about the culture of the country that we are traveling to.
If like us you are a mixed couple, do not hesitate to take this to your advantage and create video content that shows your differences. Most people love that!!!
Tips number 3
Yes, this is a tough one! I do all the editing. And when we first started, I had no idea which software to use and did not know anything about editing either.
I am not gonna lie, this takes time and countless hours watching video tutorials learning how to edit.
But you will get there and the more you will learn, the better your videos will get and more people will be interested in watching them.
For instance, we decided to focus on quality instead of quantity and for this reason, we post only two videos per week. One on Wednesday and another one on Sunday. This comes to Tip number 4 consistency.
Tips number 4
Finding your niche and being consistent with it is not easy, but if you decide to start a youtube channel and want to be successful you are gonna have to take it seriously.
If you post a video once every 2 months that may not be the best idea to grow your channel.
You want your viewers to be interested in your content. Be consistent with your upload and try to post at least twice a week, and to share the video with your friends and family.
Tips number 5
It is all about the viewer
We always try to make it about the viewer as much as possible. When you create a video, try to think about what the person behind the screen wants to see.
This person has maybe never left home and never been on a plane before and for this reason we are trying to make our video as simple as possible so the beginners and the experiments traveler can relate to it.
There is no dumb question! And we try to cover as much as possible and not make it all about us.
