About the Batu Caves
The Batu Caves, is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most popular tourist attractions, with over one million visitors each year. They are forming by limestone that is over 400 million years old. Additionally comprising of three major caves and several smaller ones.
1- Lord Murugan
Lord Murugan Statue is the tallest statue of a Hindu deity in Malaysia and the second in the world. Moreover, the edifice stands at 42.7 m in height, build in January 2006 during the Thaipusam festival it took three years to be constructed.
Not to mention that the statue is made of 350 tons of steel bars, 1,550 cubic meters of Concrete, and 300 liters of gold paint. Moreover, 15 sculptors from India participated in the creation of the statue.
2- Keep fit climbing the 272 steps to the high cavern.
The Batu caves is rising at 100 m above the ground, and comprising of three major caves and several smaller ones. The largest, referred to as Cathedral Cave or Temple Cave, has a very high ceiling and features ornate Hindu shrines. To reach it, visitors would have to climb a steep flight of 272 steps.

Accorded to Wikipedia: Thaipusam or Thaipoosam is a festival that the Tamil community celebrates on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai, usually coinciding with Pushya star.
Thaipusam comes from the “Tamil” language. ‘Thai’ refers to the 10th month in the Tamil calendar, and Poosam being the name of a star in the Cancer constellation.
Thaipusam is a time for Hindus of all castes and cultures to utter thank you and show their appreciation to one of their Gods. The festival of Thaipusam was brought to Malaysia in the 1800s when Indian immigrants started to work on the Malaysian rubber estates and the government offices.
Thaipusam is a colorful annual celebration in honor of the Hindu god Subramanian. Coupled with the devotee Indian community who impale their bodies with long metal skewers during the event.
